+Newborn King+

A Christian parody of the song, "Fireflies", by Owl City.

Verse One:
They did not believe their eyes
when they looked into the skies
and saw an angel coming down.
He said, "Don't be filled with fear.
I bring you good news to hear.
A babe's been born in Bethlehem, the town."

Chorus:
I wish that I could have seen
what shepherds saw that evening.
To see the baby Jesus on His Mother's lap, asleep,
the Savior of the world, the newborn King.

Verse Two:
Three wise men from way afar
got caught looking at a star
as they were walking to Bethlehem.
King Herod raised his hand
to murder throughout the land,
played right into the Almighty's plan.

Chorus:
I wish that I could have seen
what wise men saw that evening.
To see the baby Jesus on His Mother's lap, asleep,
the Savior of the world, the newborn King.

(The newborn king)

Bridge:
In a humble manger's where He lay
(He was born in poverty)
A King sleeps on a bed of hay
(He was born for you and me)
Surrounded by horses, cows, and sheep
(He was born for the world to see)
A little baby, fast asleep

Verse Three
Above them, in the air
a host of angels there,
all singing praises to the Lamb.
All heavenly hearts above
were pouring out their love
for the only Son of the I Am.

Chorus:
I wish that I could have seen
what angels saw that evening.
To see the baby Jesus on His Mother's lap, asleep,
the Savior of the world, the newborn King.

(The newborn King)

Chorus (x3)

Notes: I don't know what's going on. I am NO GOOD at songs. I don't know why these are suddenly pelting me at one a.m. every night. >>
